I’ve heard the story is set in Seattle. Sorry about that. I mean they could have written it about the Seattle weather. There are more than enough shades of gray for that angle. However, it is not and it sort of creeps me out, too.
Odd thing though is that I heard the author had never even been here when she wrote it. That must be the price the city pays as it becomes more present in the public consciousness. “Sleepless in Seattle” was okay, I guess but then vampires and werewolves take over Forks. Now we’re back to a different kind of sleepless in Seattle – all kinky and such. Ah, for the wholesome days of “Wargames” or “Harry and the Hendersons”.
